WALT : Is to convert these fraction to a small number by writing down the factor and the highest factor that is in both of these numbers.   

18/12  = 3/2

18 = 1,18,2,9,3,6

Here are the factors and the highest is = 6

12 = 1,12,2,6,3,4

So 18 ÷ 6 = 3 and 12 ÷ 6 = 2

∴ 18/12 = 3/2

EX 1

10/20 = 2/4

10 = 1,10,2,5,

20 = 1,20,2,10,4,5
∴ 10/20 = 2/4

EX 2

20/24 =

20 = 1,20,2,10,4,5

24= 1,24,2,12,4,6

∴ 20/24 = 5/6
